Welcome To Advanced Dermatology & Aesthetics Center
Most people who come to Advanced Dermatology & Aesthetics Center want the same thing: to look rested and like themselves, not like they’ve had work done. Dr. Hurvitz has spent more than two decades treating skin in Santa Barbara, CA, which means she knows what ages a face, what’s worth treating, and just as often what to leave alone.
Cosmetic Procedures
Most skin problems are smaller than they feel if you catch them early enough. Sun exposure builds quietly over a lifetime, and by the time something looks alarming, it’s usually been there a while. That’s the case for medical dermatology and for aesthetics both. Coming in early gives you more options, gentler treatment, and better results.
Cosmetic Procedures
Injectables, lasers, peels, skin tightening, and body contouring — with honest guidance on downtime, cost, and what each treatment can and can’t do for you.
Medical Dermatology
Skin cancer screening, biopsies, acne, eczema, and the everyday conditions that affect skin, hair, and nails.

Do you accept insurance for cosmetic treatments?
No, cosmetic and aesthetic treatments are paid out of pocket, which is standard. Medical dermatology visits, including skin cancer screenings, biopsies, and treatment for acne or eczema, are typically covered. Call (805) 618-1616 and we’ll be clear about cost before you book.
How do I know which treatment I need?
That’s what the consultation is for. Bring the concern, not the treatment name. Dr. Hurvitz will tell you what’s causing it and which option addresses it best sometimes that’s filler, sometimes it’s a laser, and sometimes it’s a change to your skincare and nothing more.
How long do results last?
Botox generally lasts three to four months. Juvéderm lasts up to a year, and Juvéderm Vollure up to eighteen months. Bellafill is longer-lasting still, and Kybella is permanent once the fat cells are gone. Laser and TempSure results build over several sessions and are maintained with periodic touch-ups.
Is there downtime?
It depends on the treatment. TempSure and IPL let most patients return to normal activity the same day. Injectables may cause brief swelling or bruising. The Vi Peel involves visible peeling for several days. We’ll tell you exactly what to expect before you commit to a date.
Do you also do medical dermatology?
Yes, and it’s a large part of the practice. Dr. Hurvitz is board certified in dermatology and treats skin cancer, acne, eczema, and disorders of the hair and nails. You can combine a cosmetic consultation with a medical visit just mention it when booking so we allow enough time. The two are billed separately.
Where are you located?
Our office is at 2431 Castillo St. in Santa Barbara, CA, convenient to Montecito, Hope Ranch, and Mission Canyon.
